If you can relate to any of this then you are in the right place!  I know what you are going through.  There is so much information on the internet and we try to do research and think we are doing what’s right for our health but it’s not working!!  I have been there. It’s frustrating as hell.

Life is Not Simple

Hello and welcome!!  My name is Megan Malinowski and I am here to tell you you’re not crazy!!! There is a better way and a way to take all the confusion out of it BUT it takes work. No quick fixes here.

I have been in the health and fitness industry for almost 2 decades after I lost over 75 pounds.  I fell in love with fitness and healthy eating and I got results just by the good old fashion way of counting macronutrients and eating clean with just a little bit of calorie counting to make sure I was eating enough. Meal planning everything I ate which took me all day on Sunday if you include the grocery shopping and meal prepping.  Life was easy at that time as in I only had to worry about me and working.  I had no kids, no husband in other words no responsibilities other than taking care of me.

A few years later I met my husband Marc and life took a turn.  I had 2 miscarriages which sent us to 3 years of infertility treatments including IVF.  This triggered thyroid issues and hormonal imbalances that I didn’t realize until years later. After our 4th failed and final round of IVF Marc collapsed on me and was rushed to the hospital.  He was diagnosed with brain cancer.

I went from one day to being a wife to right into being a full time caregiver in a blink of an eye.  Needless to say I did not handle it well mentally.  While I looked like I was this strong rock my anxiety and depression got the best of me and ended up in the hospital 2 times with panic attacks.  Then came the anxiety meds.  This was when I learned about self care and really looking into nutrition on healing the body.  I was pretty good at the exercise part.

After 4 years Marc lost his battle with cancer.  The aftermath of what his cancer and IVF did to my body was clearly there. Because honestly, who has time to really think about marco’s meal prepping and calorie counting when you are going through a traumatic time in your life.

Why Am I Telling You This?

You see I wanted to give you a little background so you know that I get it!  I get how life can get the best of you and how that life can affect what is going on inside of you.  

All of these things do affect our bodies and how it works which is why if we follow the masses when it comes to our health and fitness we don’t get the same results.  Think of our lives and bodies as fingerprints all uniquely different!  Which is why we all need to be doing something different than the next person when it comes to our nutrition and exercise.

This is my passion! I did all the fad diets, I did the research to try and figure things out on why I wasn’t losing weight and the scale just kept going up.  I didn’t realize that everything in your life can and does affect your insides until I learned about functional nutrition.
